At Manchester Hip Knee Surgeon, we offer flexible referral options tailored to meet your needs whether you are using private medical insurance, opting for self-funding, or referred through the NHS. Our streamlined process provides rapid access to consultations, diagnostic tests, and effective treatments, all without requiring a GP referral.
For Patients with Private Medical Insurance
Our clinic is fully recognised by all major insurance companies. We work within your policy’s benefit limits, ensuring that you face no unexpected shortfalls. Before your consultation and any planned treatment, please contact your insurance provider to obtain the necessary pre-authorisation.
No GP referral is needed.
For Self-Funding Patients
Self-funding provides you with direct access and enhanced flexibility in managing your care. Our fees are transparent:
- Initial Consultation: £200
- Follow-Up Consultation: £150
Additional diagnostic services, such as X-rays and MRI scans, are billed separately by the hospital. For comprehensive information, please visit our consultant profile here.
We also offer a package price for surgical treatments arranged through the hospital’s self-pay office. They will guide you through various payment options, including plans that allow you to spread the cost of treatment.
No GP referral is needed.
For NHS Patients
We also welcome NHS patients via the electronic Referral Service (e-RS) provided by your GP. For further details on patient choice within the NHS, please visit www.nhs.uk/patientchoice. When referred through e-RS, your consultation and subsequent treatment—including surgery at our private facility can be funded by the NHS.
